College Football Saturday Chattanooga Mocs at Alabama Crimson Tide Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide step outside of SEC play in college football action Saturday when they play host to the Chattanooga Mocs. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ESPN Gameplan. Currently the odds for the game have Alabama as a seven-touchdown favorite over the Mocs.

Yes, there actually is a point spread for this game. Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide don't like to run it up against teams like this, but would anyone be surprised if Alabama won this game 51-0? We thought so.

But don't look past Chattanooga just yet. There's no way they win this game, obviously, but they might be able to get some points on the board. The Mocs are 8-3 this season in the FCS, but this is their last scheduled game of the season. They lost in their last game at Samford 17-14 in overtime a week ago, so they'll be ending the regular season with a two-game losing streak.

Alabama has the Iron Bowl on deck where Auburn is finally back in the Top 10. The Crimson Tide have dominated that game lately and they very well may do that again this season, but at least Auburn is playing at a very high level.

In this one, look for Alabama to use the game as a glorified scrimmage for that Iron Bowl. Bryant-Denny Stadium should be ready to go once again for the Crimson Tide. Saban's team turned the ball over four times in their win last week over Mississippi State where they clearly struggled. QB A.J. McCarron threw his first two interceptions since September in that win.

We'd expect most of the students and people to leave this game early, but it will be senior day for the Crimson Tide and guys like McCarron and C.J. Mosley will be playing their final home game for Saban. There's no doubt that this will be a win for those guys, but look for them to play at an extremely high level.

This will be the Mocs' fifth game since 2008 against an FBS team ranked in the top 10. They've been outscored 204-33 in dropping those four games.

Free Pick: Alabama 49, Chattanooga 6
