The Arizona State Sun Devils are heading south tonight, taking on the Texas A&M Aggies in college football action at NRG Stadium in Houston. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Aggies favored to pick up this victory in this neutral site game.
This is one of the better games on the docket tonight, two power conference schools taking to a neutral field in what should be an exciting battle. Both teams have speed, athleticism and are looking for bigtime bowl appearances this season. The Sun Devils come in ranked 15th nationally, the school is coming off back-to-back double digit win seasons under head coach Todd Graham.
Texas A&M is playing in the toughest division in college football, the SEC West. Many pundits have them finishing in the sixth or seventh spot in the league, but also have them as one of the Top 25 teams in the country. That schedule is obviously brutal and it will be tough for Kevin Sumlin's group to survive it. They're favored today on a neutral site, arguably because of the SEC prowess.
Arizona State has a solid quarterback in Mike Bercovici, he's clearly got weapons around him as well. The Texas A&M defense was suspect at times last season, surrendering better than 28 points per game, but playing in that division makes it tough. Arizona State wants to get the football to D.J. Foster as much as possible, this year he's moving out to receiver instead of tailback.
The Aggies have youngster Kyle Allen with a year under his belt, Arizona State will be looking to pressure him all game long.
This should be an excellent game between two very talented squads. Arizona State is explosive, fast at a number of positions and they pick up the outright win.
