Clemson (odds -4) at Georgia Tech Start Time 8:00PM ABC: This is as contrary a game as you will find on the board. Yet it is a spot where Clemson is due to exhale. This team is 8-0 SU, 7-1 ATS by a combined +53 AFP. In the last two weeks, however, they beat Maryland 56-45 (after trailing 35-17) and destroyed North Carolina 59-38 (a result of 6 Tarheel turnovers). By my count, that’s a defense that has just allowed 83 pts in their 2 previous games. Now they must travel to face a team for whom they will have little respect. Yet it is one who presents an offensive profile that can be quite challenging to a Clemson defensive front that is allowing 169/4.6. Following the 4-0 SUATS starts against a relatively weak early slate, Tech has authored declining offensive output in their most recent 4 games. Following a season high 770 yards vs Kansas they have then recorded yardage totals of 496, 413, 386, 296 and 211. Each their running yards and passing yards have declined in every contest. Their problem is that teams are now stacking the line against their triple option. As a result QB Washington is a combined 18-51-4 in his L4G. Yet this is the week we call for the contrary turn around. All the pressure is on undefeated Clemson, with all the positive psychology on the side of home under dog Tech. In a final that will not be shocking to readers of this analysis, the Lone Ranger confidently steps in with this outright upset call.

NC State at Florida State (odds -19 ½) Start Time Noon ESPNU: These teams each enter on 2 game winning streaks at 4-3 SU, 3-4 ATS and with a pair of losses in league play. As such, they have each made my list of SUPER SURGERS. NC State began the year 2-2 SU, 0-4 ATS battling through a number of defensive injuries. But as that side has returned to health, and sparked by QB Glennon and RB Washington, they enter today’s game on runs of 2-0 SU and 3-0 ATS. It was a September to forget for Florida State. They dropped consecutive games to Oklahoma, Clemson, and Wake. It dropped them to 2-3 SU, 1-4 ATS. Yet they have rebounded with consecutive 41-16 wins and covers vs Duke and Maryland. Yet all the love in this line has been given to the home standing Sems. As such it is clear we must step in with this value underdog. HC O’Brien is 23-12-1 ATS in the role of SHORT while the Wolfpack stands 9-0-1 ATS in this series.
