The Purdue Boilermakers face their second conference road test of the season tomorrow when they square off against Michigan State at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing. Saturday's showdown between the Boilermakers and Spartans is scheduled to kickoff at 12:00pm ET on the Big Ten Network. Purdue's 2013 season has been nothing short of a disaster with the team posting a 1-5 record in its first six games.

The Boilermakers have shown almost no ability to compete with middling to upper level competition as their only respectable performance against an FBS school came in a 24-31 home loss to Notre Dame.

Purdue's other four losses were all of the embarrassing variety, including last weekend's meeting with Nebraska.

The Huskers handed the Boilermakers their second conference loss of the season, defeating them 44-7 in West Lafayette. Per usual, Purdue's offense sputtered, finishing the game with 11 first downs and 216 total yards.

For the season the Boilermakers are averaging a pathetic 15.3 points and 287.3 yards per game.

Those numbers will probably look even worse after tomorrow's meeting with Michigan State. Unlike Purdue, what the Spartans lack on offense they make up for with a suffocating defense.

Michigan State, which brings a 5-1 record into this game, is eighth in the nation in scoring defense with a 15.4 points per game allowed average and it is the nation's top defensive unit in terms of yards per game, giving up an average of 228.3 per game.

Notable Trends: The Under is 5-0 in the Spartans last five games as a home favorite with a total between 41.5 and 44 points.
