College Football Odds Navy Midshippmen vs Toledo Rockets

College football on Saturday and we will see the Navy Midshipmen travel to Toledo, Ohio to take on the Toledo Rockets. The game will be televised on ESPN News and has a start time of 12:00 pm (Eastern). Current Odds have Toledo listed as 7.5 point favorites, while the total sits at 55.

Analysis: The Navy Midshippmen come in with a 3-2 record scoring an average of 40 ppg in their 3 wins but just 7 ppg in their two losses. Last week they took on a week Duke defense and were able to muster just 7 points in the game. The Navy offense is ranked 83rd overall, but they have a powerful run game that is ranked 11th in the nation, averaging 281.2 ypg. Keenan Reynolds runs the show from under center, and has been the most used player in the option rushing attack. He is the team's leading rusher with 416 yards on 97 carries and has crossed the goal line seven times. Navy's defense has held three of its five opponents under 20 points, but had a weak showing last week against Duke, allowing the Blue Devils 435 yards of offense and 35 points. On the season, Navy is allowing just over 396 ypg, while ranking 29th in the nation yielding only 21.2 ppg.

The Rockets are 3-3 with losses to three respectable opponents in Florida (24-6), Missouri (38-23) and Ball State (31-24). They have improved to 2-1 in Mid- American Conference play with a 47-20 rout of Western Michigan (47-20), two weeks ago. Toledo will most likely look for its star tailback David Fluellen to carry the load once again. Fluellen raked up a season-high 220 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries in the team's lopsided win over WMU. The Rockets' passing attack has not been as stellar due to the inconsistent play of senior quarterback Terrence Owens. He has thrown a touchdown pass in three straight games, while completing 65.9 percent of his attempts for 562 yards during that span. On the defensive side of the ball the Rockets have been average at best, ranking 64th in total defense and 54th in scoring defense, allowing 25.2 ppg.

Pick: Im going to take a stab at the Under in this one. The Rocket's offense isn't nearly as explosive as in year past and they have been running the ball a bit more than usual as well. The defense has been decent, especially vs the run as they rank 42nd in the nation in that department. The Navy defense has been poor, but I don't expect a whole lot out of a more conservative Toledo in this one. Really hard to see this one hitting the 50's at all.
