The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are taking on the Army Black Knights in college football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC. The college football odds for the game have the Fighting Irish favored to pick up the win.

Notre Dame is having a season for the ages, albeit not the way they would have liked. The Fighting Irish are just 3-6 on the campaign with two tough games coming up in the next few weeks as well against Virginia Tech and USC.

The Fighting Irish will have to find a way to stop the run in this game. Army loves to keep the football on the ground as they piled up better than 320 yards rushing per game, which ranks second-best in the country.

This is the second straight week ND is playing a service academy school, last week they lost to Navy by not being able to stop the run. Navy rushed for 320 yards in that game and averaged better than 5.5 yards a carry, winning the time of possession with almost 34 minute on offense.

ND has the big quarterback in DeShone Kizer, the future NFL guy with a big arm that has playmakers to get the football to.

Army is just one win from bowl eligibility but it’s going to take a strong effort here. The Black Knights have several guys that can eat up yardage, the Irish give up 178 yards on the ground per game. Army isn’t going to change anything up coming into this one and their methodical run game will keep them in this.
