The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets welcome in the Miami Hurricanes in college football action Saturday night. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ESPN2. Currently the odds for the game have the Yellow Jackets favored by a small amount.
Al Golden and the Miami Hurricanes got back on track last week, knocking off Duke 22-10 to improve to 3-2 on the season. That was a big conference game for the Hurricanes, who just had lost at Nebraska the week prior. Both of Miami's losses have come on the road (lost to Louisville to open season) this year, so that's why they are catching points in this matchup against Georgia Tech.
Youngster Brad Kaaya has had growing pains already this season, but is going to continue to get better and be a good one for the Canes. He's thrown for almost 1,300 yards already and 12 scores, but Miami needs to set an identity with him. Learning along the way is fine, but Kaaya will have to make better decisions moving forward if the Canes are going to be a contender in the ACC.
This game obviously has a lot to do with that. Georgia Tech is listed as a small favorite in this one because of Miami's troubles on the road. The Yellow Jackets are looking to build off their 4-0 start to the season, which included an upset at Virginia Tech last week.
But in this series, which has been dominated of late by the Hurricanes, MIami has out-scored Georgia Tech 179-100 the last five games. Handing the ball to Duke Johnson and letting the bigtime back pile up yardage could be the recipe for success as Miami looks to piece together a couple of wins here in the ACC conference.
The defense for the Hurricanes will come up big in this one, getting a couple of stops late when they need it.
We like Miami to pull the mild upset here tonight on the road.
