The fifth-ranked LSU Tigers are taking on the Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau Field to open the college football season on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ABC. This game has certainly been talked about heading into the season. It’s rare for an SEC team to travel north for anybody during the non-conference schedule, but LSU has now done it two years in a row, having gone into Syracuse last season and picking up a 10-point win.

LSU isn’t playing an official road game here, but Lambeau Field is a hell of a lot closer to Madison than it is to Baton Rouge. Les Miles and the Tigers are expecting a tough game and they are going to get it from the Badgers and their faithful.

The Tigers have a new defensive coordinator in Dave Aranda, who comes over from Wisconsin of all schools. That could play a role in this game today based on his knowledge of the Badger personnel.

Leonard Fournette and the Tigers have a legitimate national title contender this season, but they are going to have to win a game like this in order to help out that overall resume. The Tigers are going to rely on Fournette coming out of the backfield and rumbling for a ton of yards, but QB Brandon Harris is going to have to get them down the field a time or two in this one. The wide receivers for LSU are fantastic.

Both teams have a strong defense, but LSU has one of the best in the country.
