College Football Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns at Ole Miss Rebels Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Texas A&M vs. Ole Miss: Despite Loss, Rebels' 2-QB System Worked

The Ole Miss Rebels have risen to No. 14 in the rankings and host the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns in college football action Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the SEC Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Rebels favored by four touchdowns in this one.

Louisiana-Lafayette is a pretty good football team. But in this matchup with Hugh Freeze's Rebels, they're overmatched. The Ole Miss Rebels have looked very strong offensively through two games this season, scoring 76 points in two games over Boise State and Vanderbilt. The defense has been just as good, allowing only 16 total points to the Broncos and Commodores. In last week's win over Vandy the Rebels held a 34-9 first down advantage and piled up 547 yards of offense.

That isn't great news for the Cajuns as they surrendered 48 points at home to Louisiana Tech last week. On the surface that might not have looked very good for Louisiana, but note that Louisiana Tech turned around and hammered North Texas 42-21 on Thursday night.

The Cajuns have a pretty established offense with Terrance Broadway leading the way — Louisiana is averaging better than 463 yards of total offense per game. They're probably not going to be able to get close to that number against an SEC defense like Ole Miss sports.

Ole Miss has already picked up a conference win and looked good inside the Georgia Dome against Boise, so their confidence has to be riding high. They don't play next week and that should help keep Freeze's team focused in this one.

This will be the home-opener for Ole Miss, believe it or not, and they should be able to put on a show. Louisiana has struggled in their road openers, by the way, going just 1-5 the last six years. The Cajuns also have to go on the road next week to take on Boise State, so the schedule is certainly difficult. It's not going to be easy to pull an upset here, which is why they are four-touchdown underdogs.

Ole Miss is in a better position, has the better team and they have Bo Wallace with a ton of weapons on offense. Look for the Rebels to run away with this one, playing well on both sides of the football.

Free Pick: Ole Miss 41, Louisiana 10
