College Football Odds
Michigan State -4
Total: 44 points
Iowa is coming off a rough loss at home to Penn State last week. The Hawkeyes played well enough to win and nearly did, falling on the last play of the game to the Nitany Lions. Michigan State was drilled at home by Notre Dame and they still find themselves favored here over Iowa.
That’s because the Spartans should be better focused and it’s difficult to gauge how Iowa will react after last week’s contest. The Hawkeyes stayed close to Penn State, but they were dominated 38-11 in first downs and 581-273 in total offense. Even so, the Hawkeyes were literally one play from winning the game.
Here against Michigan State, the Hawkeyes will look to run the football. Notre Dame posted 182 yards on the ground against the Spartans and even though they were out-gained 493-355 in total yardage, the Irish had no issues holding the lead.
MSU will bring a better effort here, But Iowa will look to win the time of possession battle and play well enough defensively to win.
