The seventh-ranked Michigan Wolverines open the college football season when they take on the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on Saturday. The travel logged by Hawaii is going to take a toll on them at some point. The Rainbow Warriors lost to California last week in Sydney, Australia, now they fly all the way to Ann Arbor to play Michigan.
The Wolverines enter the season ranked seventh in the country, Jim Harbaugh has a very strong team this season that should contend for a Big Ten title and a spot in the College Football Playoffs. Michigan should cruise to a 7-0 start this season, which begins with this contest against a Hawaii.
Harbaugh’s team has some questions at quarterback, but they are certainly strong at every other position. The defense will be loaded this season with coordinator Don Brown, which will cause some problems for Hawaii when the Rainbow Warriors have the football. Hawaii might have a bit of a leg up having already played, but Michigan’s defense is considerably better than anything Cal can put on the field.
Michigan will look to run the football consistently here. The Wolverines bring their top three rushers back from last season and the offensive line is going to be better in 2016.
Laying a ton of points like this is never easy, but with a defense like Michigan puts on the field, it’s tough to se Hawaii scoring a lot of points.
