The Michigan State Spartans are hosting the Furman Paladins in college football action Friday night. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Spartans listed as massive favorites to pick up the win.

Michigan State is expected to once again by a team that will make a run at a Big Ten title. The Spartans have won double-digit games each of the last three seasons, combining to finish 36-5 during that time.

Mark Dantonio is always playing the underdog, disrespected role and his team has been able to buy into that. Averaging 12 wins per season each of the last three year is certainly impressive, but this year they have to replace a number of starters on offense and find a new quarterback with the departure of Connor Cook.

Furman should be no problem here for the Spartans. The point spread here is crazy at six touchdowns despite MSU just announcing its quarterback this week in Tyler O’Connor. But Sparty has been known to have a strong offensive line, great running game and a defense that won’t let opponents do a whole lot.

Furman is just overmatched here, so the Paladins will look to avoid getting embarrassed.
