Heisman leader Lamar Jackson gets another primetime contest here as the Cardinals host an ACC matchup with Duke. Jackson has been the best player in the country the entire season and has provided electric plays through the first five games and he’s looking to add to that in this contest.
Louisville can benefit from someone on the schedule being competitive, just blowing out the next five opponents won’t help them climb into the playoff discussion. The close loss to Clemson showcased how good Jackson can be against legitimate teams, but the only one of those left on the schedule is probably a road game Nov. 17 at Houston.
Duke has not been good this season, they did beat Notre Dame but dropped an inexcusable game to Virginia a few weeks back that has pretty much crushed any dreams they had. A victory there would have given them a 4-4 record to this point with a chance to make a bowl game, but a loss here moves Duke to 3-4 with several tough games still left on the schedule.
Jackson and the Cardinals are just too good here. Duke can hold the football for lengths of time but it might not make a difference as Louisville can score quickly and without much hesitation.
