The fifth-ranked Michigan Wolverines are hosting the UCF Knights in college football action Saturday. The game is scheduled for a noon start time and it will be televised nationally on ABC. Currently the college football odds for the game have the Wolverines favored by a big margin in this one.

Michigan enters the game climbing up two spots in the Associated Press this week. The Wolverines took apart Hawaii last week, picking up a 63-3 victory over a Rainbow Warrior squad that flew halfway across the country after playing in Sydney, Australia again the California Golden Bears.

It’s only been one game for the Wolverines, but Michigan feels like it has a national title contender this season. The defense is going to be elite and as long as Wilton Speight avoids turnovers, the offense should be able to consistently put up points. Speight threw an interception on his first pass against the Rainbow Warriors but settled in nicely to finish with three touchdowns on just 10 completions. 

Chris Evans proved to be a nice commodity at the tailback position in the opener, posting 112 yards on eight carries with two touchdowns. For the day the Wolverines rushed for 306 yards for an average of almost eight yards per carry, which also featured four total touchdowns. A total of 11 Wolverines had at least one carry in the game as Michigan was able to showcase its depth at that spot.

UCF went winless last year but found a way to win 38-0 over South Carolina State last week. A big bright spot was Matthew Wright kicking four field goals.

The Knights might not reach 12 points in this one.
