The Houston Cougars welcome in the UCF Knights in college football action tonight. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Cougars favored at home in this one.

Central Florida, last year's BCS-busting darlings, have struggled out the gate so far the season. The Knights are just 1-2 on the season and the team's only win came in their last game over Bethune-Cookman. Prior to that, UCF suffered losses to Penn State and Missouri.

But maybe one of the reasons UCF has struggled so far this year is the inconsistency in the schedule. The team waited two weeks, and came back from Ireland, and had two weeks off before traveling to take on Missouri. It's been 12 days since they played their last game, as well. Now the schedule gets more consistent as they play in each of the next five weeks.

Houston has alternated wins and losses in their four games this season, but did play pretty good last week in a win over UNLV. They'll have to get better play from their quarterback if the Cougars are going to continue winning, however. 

John O'Korn has thrown for six touchdowns and six picks so far this year. He threw two picks against UNLV last week, but the team found a way to get it done. Four of his picks came against Texas-San Antonio in the opening week, which saw him not throw a single touchdown pass.

Both schools are coming off a bye and should be rested up for this American Athletic Conference game. It's the conference opener for both teams, with UCF winning four of the last five straight up in the series.

With each team expected to be in the discussion for the conference crown, the team with the win in this one certainly has a leg up on the rest of the league. Look for the home team Cougars to find a way to get this one done.
