College Football Bowling Green Falcons at Toledo Rockets Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Bowling Green Players to Watch

The Bowling Green Falcons hit the road to take on the Toledo Rockets in MAC college football action tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the odds for the game have the Rockets favored at home to get the win.

Big game here between a pair of 5-1 MAC teams. The Falcons sit atop the MAC East Division and won't lose their position at all in this game. Ohio, which just lost last night to Northern Illinois, is in second place behind Bowling Green and won't catch the Falcons in the standings. But just because Bowling Green has this thing all but wrapped up doesn't mean that want to stub their toes now.

Only conference foe Western Michigan has been able to beat this Bowling Green football team. Both Western Kentucky and Wisconsin also own wins over Bowling Green, both putting up a ton of points on the Falcons.

Toledo beat Western Michigan but is coming off a loss last week at Northern Illinois. They're going to need some help to get into the MAC title game (a lot of help) but there's still an outside shot. They're also fighting to potentially play in a bowl game as well, so don't expect a bad effort from either team.

Toledo's biggest problem this season has been the defense. The Rockets give up nearly 32 points per game, which ranks 97th in the country. Not good. While they have an offense that can move the football and score points (33.4 per game), the defense has let them down this season in crucial spots. The Rocket defense is going to have to come up with some stops tonight.

Bowling Green's defense will also have to play well. They will need to slow the Rocket running attack that averages 247 yards on the ground per game. Toledo already has 22 rushing TDs on the season.

Bowling Green will look to throw the football with James Knapke, but it won't be easy in the predicted weather tonight. So far this season he's pitched it for 2,400 yards and 12 scores, but Bowling Green is going to have to run the football tonight to win.

Bowling Green's defense isn't great either, but they have played well the past few weeks. Aside from giving up a combined 127 points to Western Kentucky and Wisconsin, the Falcons are surrendering just 24 points per game. Look for them to make the difference tonight.

Free Pick: Bowling Green 34, Toledo 31
