The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are taking on the Memphis Tigers in the Boca Raton Bowl tonight. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college football odds for the game have the Hilltoppers favored by a touchdown to pick up the win.

This is the highest total of any bowl game at 80 points, and it’s the most by a long shot. Western Kentucky comes in with 10 games in the win column this year and they finished the season with seven consecutive victories, averaging better than 52 points per game during those wins.
Memphis won each of the last two games on its schedule, taking out Cincinnati 34-7 and Houston 48-44. The Tigers also housed SMU 51-7 in one of their last four games overall.
Western Kentucky no longer has Jeff Brohm as the head coach, he took the Purdue job, so there could be some unfamiliarity here. He was also the offensive coordinator, so that could really put a damper on the Hilltoppers offense here, if only in play calling mode.
Both teams can score points, Hilltopper QB Mike White threw for better than 4,000 yards on the season and 34 touchdowns. Anthony Wales is a load at tailback as well, posting 6.8 yards per carry with 24 scores and almost 1,400 yards on the ground. Taywan Taylor (89 catches) and Nicholas Norris (73 catches) both went over 1,250 yards receiving and combined for 29 touchdown catches.
Memphis has a strong QB in Riley Ferguson, he threw for better than 3,300 yards with 28 scores but the Tigers really don’t have that explosive of a run game. Doroland Dorceus led with 783 yards and nine scores. Their best big-play receiver, Anthony Miller, has 84 catches and 11 scores, but he has almost 50 catches more than the next receiver, so Western Kentucky will be locked in on him.
In a game with a ton of points going to be scored, look for the team with the better run game to be able to sustain some drives.
