College Football Betting Odds Oklahoma Sooners at Tulsa Golden Hurricane

The Oklahoma Sooners welcome in the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes on Saturday in college football action. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX Sports 1. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Sooners favored by an overwhelming favorite to blow out the Golden Hurricane.

Oklahoma comes in ranked 16th in the country, they picked up a huge win over Tennessee last week despite trailing by double digits in the fourth quarter. Bob Stoops’ team forced overtime and found a way to pick up the win, now they host 2-0 Tulsa for an intra-state battle. Both teams are on bye next week, so the focus should be there from both schools in this one. Oklahoma is the better overall team and they own eight straight victories over Tulsa by an average of almost 40 points. The Sooners blew the doors off Tulsa last year, picking up a 52-7 victory.

This is the 100th career home game for Stoops and the Sooners have piled up an impressive 75-4 record against unranked teams in home games. That doesn’t bode well for Tulsa and Sooner quarterback Baker Mayfield will be looking to spread the ball all over the field. Mayfield, named the starter over Trevor Knight, has thrown for 575 yards and six touchdowns already this season through two games.

Oklahoma hasn’t run the ball extremely well in their opening two games, though, averaging 3.2 yards per carry and they only have three scores on the ground. Samaje Perine has not had the impact early on the Sooners are looking for, this would be a good time to get back on track.

The Golden Hurricane have run the football well, piling up 473 yards and six touchdowns through their opening two games. Tulsa has picked up wins over Florida Atlantic and New Mexico, but have surrendered an average of 32.5 points per game in those games. The defense could struggle against Oklahoma in this one and odds are the Sooners will have no problems going above 33 points.

The Sooners have better special teams, a better defense and will have no problem scoring points, especially at home. Oklahoma will run away with this one.
