College Football Betting Odds NC State Wolfpack vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Free Pick

Saturday college football and we will see the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets take on the NC State Wolfpack at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina. The game has a start time of 12:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on the ACC Network. Current Vegas odds have the Yellow Jackets listed as 4 point favorites, while the total is set at 61.

Analysis: The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets come in playing some very good ball after crushing Pittsburgh on the road two weeks ago and then beating Virginia at home by 25 points last week. Tech is now 7-2 on the year, including a 4-2 mark in the ACC, which puts them in second place in the Coastal division behind Duke. Georgia Tech is 11-4-1 ATS the last 16 in this series and  7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games following a SU win of more than 20 points, but also 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game and 3-8 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. Tech is a very good offensive team, ranking 26th in total yards, 117th in passing, 4th in rushing and 18th in scoring (36.9 ppg). They have been very average on defense, ranking 77th in yards allowed, 82nd vs the pass, 72nd vs the run and 64th in points allowed (26.2 ppg).

The Wolfpack come in off a nice 27-14 road win over Syracuse this past weekend. The win snapped a 4 game losing streak and now has them at 54 on the year overall, but still just 1-4 in the ACC. The Underdog is 6-1-1 ATS the last 8 meetings, while NC State is 17-5-1 ATS in their last 23 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, but they are also 0-5-1 ATS the last 6 home games in this series. The Wolfpack are not a great offensive team, ranking 73rd in total offense, 76th in passing, 57th in rushing and 73rd in scoring (28.7 ppg). The Wolfpack are also a mediocre defensive team that comes in ranked 65th in yards allowed, 51st vs the pass, 75th vs the run and 76th in points allowed (27.6 ppg).

Pick: I see this game as a shootout, much like the last two years that saw 80 and 73 points being scored. The Wolfpack have had some issues on offense of late, but earlier in the year they did have a stretch of 4 games in a row where they put up at least 40 points, which included scoring 41 on Florida State. They should get back to scoring in this one vs a Georgia Tech defense that has allowed 464 ypg and 30.3 ppg on the road, which includes allowed 509 ypg and 33.3 ppg in their last 3 away from home. On offense this team has no such issues, averaging 36.9 ppg overall, including 41 ppg on the road. They should clearly be able to score in this one vs a NC State defense that has allowed 28.6 ppg and 427 ypg at home this year. The Over is 7-1 in Georgia Tech’s last 8 road games, while the Over is 14-5 in the Wolfpack’s last 19 home games vs a team with a winning road record. Punters can take the day off in this one.
