The Penn State Nittany Lions are hosting the Michigan Wolverines in college football action on Saturday night. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ABC. The college football odds for the game have the Nittany Lions favored to pick up the win at home.

Penn State was embarrassed in this game last year, losing 49-10 in the opening Big Ten game for both schools. The Nittany Lions got it figured out and went on to win the Big Ten title.

Michigan has been an embarrassment this season on the field, at least the last two weeks. Another loss to Michigan State where they threw the football too much was followed up by an overtime win over Indiana last week.

Even so, the Wolverines are 5-1 and get a huge boost with an upset win here. The 9.5 points on the spread seem like a lot, even with Michigan’s struggles at the quarterback position. If Michigan lines up and runs the football, they’re going to have a chance.

Saquon Barkley might win the Heisman this season, but he’ll need to have a better game here compared to last season. Barkley ran for only 59 yards but did catch five passes for 77 yards. He was the best player on the field for Penn State that day and probably should be in this one as well.

But Michigan’s defense is stout against the run, which should keep them in this.
