The Miami Hurricanes will play the Virginia Tech Hokies in the ACC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college basketball odds for the game have the Hokies favored to pick up the win in this one.
College Basketball Odds
Virginia Tech -7.5
Total: 137 points
Miami allowed itself to play another day with a win over Wake Forest on Tuesday. Now the Hurricanes have to find a way to score against a tough Virginia Tech defense here in the second round of the ACC Tournament.
The Hokies allow just over 62 points per game this season, that ranks 12th nationally. Miami scored 70 points in each of the team’s meetings this season, but neither team was it good enough to pick up the win. Virginia Tech swept the Hurricanes in wins of 82-70 and 84-70. That second game just came last weekend in Blacksburg where Nickeil Alexander-Walker finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. In the first meeting, Alexander-Walker had 25 points, five assists, four rebounds and six steals. Safe to say he feels comfortable playing against this Hurricanes squad.
Miami has the benefit of playing a game yesterday, so they should be lathered up, but Virginia Tech is going to make them work on every possession. The Hokies might start slow, but they’ll take care of business here.
