College Basketball Kansas Jayhawks at Kentucky Wildcats Start Time, Betting Odds, Free Pick

The Kentucky Wildcats are hosting the Kansas Jayhawks tonight in college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 6:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college basketball odds for the game have the Wildcats favored to pick up the win at home.

These two blue bloods come into tonight’s game limping in off a loss. They’re each still ranked inside the Top 5 nationally, but both should fall just a little based on a defeat earlier this week. Kansas is going to have to find a way to stay focused in this one, the highlight game of the weekend and the marquee contest in the Big 12/SEC challenge.

This is the type of game the fans, and college basketball, deserves during the regular season.

Kansas has suspended Carlton Bragg indefinitely, that’s based on a violation of team rules. There is a current sexual assault investigation on campus, but head coach Bill Self said Bragg is not being investigated for that incident. Either way, him not being on the court gives the Jayhawks one less guy in a game where they need as many bigtime players as they can put on the court.

Frank Mason III has played like a national player of the year all season. Malik Monk is in that conversation as well. Both will matchup in this one and look to lead their respective teams to a win.

Kentucky rarely plays a team like Kansas in Rupp Arena. They did host UCLA earlier this season and got beat by the Bruins, it’s still the only defeat on the home slate for the Wildcats. Kansas is a pretty strong road team itself, winning four of its five true road games this season.

With all the history involved with these two schools — Kentucky is college basketball's all-time wins leader with 2,222 while Kansas is in second place at 2,204. Together, they have been to 31 Final Fours and own 11 NCAA titles — there should be some excellent basketball played.

Expect some points to be scored.
