Wisconsin has been skidding a bit the last few weeks. The Badgers have dropped four of the last five games overall and they have looked poor in each of those defeats.
Iowa will be looking to win in Madison, something only one other team has been able to do this season. Northwestern beat the Badgers Feb. 12, the Wildcats led at halftime and knocked off Wisconsin when they were ranked seventh for one of those quality wins that will help them make the tournament.
The Hawkeyes won’t be making the tournament, even if they go 9-9 in Big Ten play. That would require them to win tonight. Peter Jok is the only four-year senior for Iowa and he’s never won in Madison. Part of the reason Iowa has struggled, especially on the road, is their lack of defense as they have allowed 77.7 points per game. Iowa is coming off two straight big wins over Indiana and Maryland so they have some confidence going.
Right now Wisconsin should not be favored by double digits over anybody. The Badgers have really hit a tough stretch here and while they should win tonight, Iowa is fighting to somehow find a way.
