The biggest college basketball of the season takes place tonight when the Duke Blue Devils hit the road to take on the Wisconsin Badgers. The game is scheduled for a 9:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have Wisconsin favored in this one by a small margin.
With both teams ranked inside the top five nationally, this battle between teams in the Big Ten/ACC challenge is certainly going to be a good one. Duke has the diaper dandies that are going to continue to get better as the season moves along. Wisconsin is loaded with gritty veterans and they're playing at home, where Bo Ryan rarely loses games. Duke holds the best record in the challenge between the conferences at 13-2.
Both clubs come into the game with identical 7-0 records, but this will be Duke's first true road game of the season. The Blue Devils have been scoring a ton of points this season, posting better than 90 per game while holding opponents under 60 points per game on the defensive end. Jahlil Okafor is the fabulous freshman that is leading the Blue Devils on the floor, averaging nearly 18 per game and being a presence on the defensive end of the floor.
Okafor and Frank Kaminsky will be the featured matchup in this one. The youngster against the older, more experienced big man should make for great play on both ends of the floor. Kaminsky has the option of stepping out on the perimeter and has the ability to knock down shots, which could test Okafor and the Blue Devils defense.
This will be Duke's 37th career Top 5 matchup under legendary head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Wisconsin has played in just three of these matchups, going just 1-2 in those contests. This will be a good game between great teams and the squad that gets the better effort from their role players will win. Look for the Badgers to pick up a close win at home.
