College Basketball Betting Odds Virginia Cavaliers vs Miami Hurricanes Free Pick

College basketball Saturday and we will see the Virginia Cavaliers take on the Miami Hurricanes at BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Florida. The game has a start time of 5:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN 2 Current Vegas odds have Virginia listed as 12 point favorites, while the total is set at 117.5.

Analysis:  The Virginia Cavaliers come in to this game with a perfect 12-0 mark on the season and a number 3 ranking in the polls. The Cavs have also gone 3-0 in true road games this year. having won 5 of their last 6 games to put their season record at 9-3 overall, which includes a 1-1 mark in true road games. Virginia is 16-3-2 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a ATS loss and 15-4-2 ATS in their last 21 vs. the ACC. The Cavaliers have been a decent offensive team, ranking 123rd in scoring (70.6 ppg), 18th in shooting (49.3%), 42nd in 3 point shooting (38.6%) and 30th in FT shooting (74.2%). Defensively the Cavaliers have been awesome, ranking 2nd in points allowed (48.3 ppg), 2nd in defensive FG% (32.9%) and 59th in 3 point defense (29.7%).

The were ranked in the top 25 at one point this year, but a bad 28 point home loss to Eastern Kentucky did away with that ranking. The Canes are trying to work their way back in as they have now won 5 in a row to put their season record at 10-3. Miami is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. and 17-6 ATS in their last 23 Saturday games, but just 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 games following a ATS win. The Canes have been an average offensive squad this year, ranking 142nd in scoring (69.8 ppg), 109th in shooting (45.2%), 61st in 3 point shooting (37.8%) and 96th in FT shooting (71.3%). The defense for this team has been solid, ranking 45th in points allowed (59.7 ppg), 98th in defensive FG% (40.1%) and 99th in 3 point defense (31.1%).

Pick:  Going with the Under here between a couple of teams that have played very good defense this year and also that play at a slo pace. the Cavs have allowed just 48.3 ppg on the year, while the Canes come in allowing just 59.7 ppg. possessions will be limited in this game and that should keep the scoring to 110 or less.
