College Basketball Betting Odds Texas Longhorns vs Kansas Jayhawks Start Time, Free Pick

The Texas Longhorns are on the road tonight in Big 12 College Basketball action when they take on the Kansas Jayhawks. The game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the College Basketball Betting Odds for the game have the Jayhawks listed as a solid favorite to win.

Kansas is looking for a way to rebound from Monday's loss at Kansas State. The Jayhawks are in the lead in the Big 12 standings again this season with just a handful of games left to play. West Virginia, Oklahoma and Iowa State are just a single game back in the standings and all three are in a good position to win on Saturday. Kansas' final two games on the schedule for the regular season come against West Virginia and Oklahoma, for what it's worth.

Kansas can also deal Texas another tough blow to the Longhorns' tournament thoughts as well. Texas has been ranked this season but the proverbial wheels have fallen off, it seems. The Longhorns have lost three straight games after beating up on the bottom feeders in the conference. This stretch for Rick Barnes' team obviously isn't easy with five straight against ranked opponents, but if they can win one or two of them the tournament resume will look a lot better.

Isaiah Taylor is going to need to have a big game for Texas to have a chance. The Horns are not a great offensive team and Kansas is not the best team defensively, either, which gives Texas a shot here. Kansas at home is obviously tough to beat, having won all 14 matchups there this season while Texas is just 4-6 on the road. Kansas has picked up 23 straight wins on their own floor at Phog Allen as they have scored an average of almost 78 points per game during that span.

Back in the first meeting Kansas ran all over Texas in Austin. The Jayhawks had a huge second half and got 31 bench points, led by Cliff Alexander with 15. His matchup today with Jonathan Holmes will be critical to the overall game. Kansas, though, brings too much intensity in home games and they're battling for a Big 12 title yet again.

Texas just isn't playing well enough to win this game.
