Tonight the Stanford Cardinal will take on the Utah Utes in the Quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament, which will be held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas Nevada. The game has a start time of 11:40 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas betting odds have the Utes listed as 7.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 130. 

Analysis:  The Stanford Cardinal had not been playing all that well of late as they had lost their last 3 games of the regular season, but they did bounce back nicely with a hard fought 71-69 win over Washington last night. For the year the Cardinal is now 19-12 overall and have gone 10-9 in Pac-12 play so far. The Cards have gone 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss and 10-25 ATS in their last 35 Thursday games. The Cardinal have been a very good offensive team this year, as they come in ranked 52nd in scoring (72.8 ppg), 179th in shooting (43.5%), 40th in 3 point shooting (38.3%) and 66th in FT shooting (72.3%). Defensively the Cardinal has been not that good this year, ranking 193rd in points allowed (67.2 ppg), 170th in defensive FG% (42.8%) and 295th in 3 point defense (36.8%). 

The Utah Utes have not really played well down the stretch as they have won just 2 of their last 5 games. Overall the Utes still had a very good season as they come in with a 2307 record, while grabbing the number 3 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament. Utah has gone 36-14-3 ATS in their last 53 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs the Pac-12. The Utes have been a good offensive team this year, ranking 67th in scoring (72.1 ppg), 9th in shooting (48.6%), 14th in 3 point shooting (39.8%) and 141st in FT shooting (69.9%). The defense for this team has been excellent as they come in ranked 11th in points allowed (56.6 ppg), 7th in defensive FG% (38.0%) and 53rd in 3 point defense (31.5%).

Pick: The teams met earlier in the year and there was 134 points scored in that game, but it see this one much lower scoring. The Utes have played excellent defense this year, but in their season finale they did allow 77 points to Washington, in a game that they lost, so you can bet that they will look to lock it down defensively in this one. For the year the Utes have allowed just 56.9 ppg overall and just 58 ppg away from home. The Cardinal did score 71 vs Washington last night, but this still is a very average offense and they did score just 59 points in the earlier meeting between the teams. Stanford is not a great defensive team, but have been playing better of late and they should be able to keep a Utah offense that has scored just 62 ppg away from home this year, in check. I see this one in the lower 120s.
