The San Diego Toreros are on the road tonight to take on the BYU Cougars in West Coast Conference College Basketball. The game is scheduled for a 10:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPNu. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the Cougars favored by double digits to pick up the win.

BYU has already picked up 20 wins on the season, but they'd have 21 entering tonight's game without falling to San Diego in January. The Toreros knocked off BYU 77-74 in a game that saw San Diego post 44 second-half points. Tyler Haws had 20 points for the Cougars, but it wasn't enough to pick up the win. BYU is hopeful that game won't keep them out of the NCAA Tournament, but as of tonight many bracketologists have them on the outside looking in.

It doesn't help that the Cougars have just one Top 50 RPI win — beating UMass. Without a couple of solid wins on the resume, BYU could miss the tournament despite winning potentially 25 games. That makes tonight's game essentially a must-win.

San Diego is 13-13 on the season and the victory over BYU is the only Top 100 RPI win. Tonight's game against BYU is the first of three road games to end the season as San Diego will also take on Gonzaga and Portland. The Toreros don't score a lot of points and the games they play are drag-it-out and slow paced. BYU certainly doesn't want to play that way and will look to speed it up tonight.

The Cougars lead the country with 84.8 points per game, shoot almost 47 percent from the floor and rebound the basketball well. BYU cannot afford another loss to a sub-par team, so look for them to get out early and cruise in this one.
