The fifth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers welcome in the Northwestern Wildcats tonight in Big Ten College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the Badgers favored to hammer the Wildcats in this one.
Wisconsin has been the best team in the Big Ten all season and they should have no problems taking out Northwestern in this one. The Badgers come in with a 20-2 record on the season with just a single conference loss at Rutgers when Frank Kaminsky didn't play.
Northwestern, on the other hand, has only won once in the conference this season, knocking off the same Scarlet Knights back in late December. Since then the Wildcats have lost eight straight games and it won't get any easier with games against Michigan State and Iowa coming up, although both of those games are at home.
So far this season the Wildcats have won just two of their five conference games on the year. They don't score a lot of points (64.4, 256th) and are not a good shooting team at just 43.6 percent per game, which ranks 170th best in the country. Wisconsin is laying a ton of points, coming into this game being able to do pretty much what they've wanted to the entire season.
Wisconsin does shoot the basketball well, ranking 11th nationally at better than 49 percent. The Badgers have won five straight games and have been getting solid play from Sam Dekker and Nigel Hayes. Both guys will have big games in this one as well, with the Badgers being a very good team at home this season. So far this year Wisconsin is allowing just 56.6 points per game at home, beating up on opponents with an average win of nearly 24 points per game.
Bo Ryan's team is just too good to slip up here against a poor Northwestern team. The Badgers can play slow, can run or look to cause turnovers by their opponents and turn them into points.
Wisconsin is just too good, especially at home.
