The Baylor Bears are taking on the USC Trojans in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 7:45 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on truTV. The college basketball odds for the game have the Bears favored to pick up the win by a handful of possessions.
College Basketball Odds
Baylor -7
Total: 142.5 points
USC had one of the true stunners in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, beating an SMU team that won 30 games during the regular season and looked primed for a decent run here in the tournament. But alas, the Trojans are still playing and SMU is not. USC won its opening game during the First Four and still get to keep playing here, facing off against Baylor.
Baylor lost two straight years in the opening round, but bounced back this year, clobbering New Mexico State. Now the Bears are looking to advance to the Sweet 16 and play for even bigger things. The Bears will have to contain Bennie Boatwright, he’s an elite talent that can get the Trojans rolling.
The Bears are led by Johnathan Motley and Manu Lecomte, both are averaging double digits for the season and got to that mark again in the opening round blowout of New Mexico State.
Baylor does not have the momentum USC has built up, but the Bears are still favored by a couple of possessions here. That seems a bit odd.
