The
Baltimore Orioles open a seven game home stand tonight as they welcome the
Cleveland Indians to Camden Yards at Oriole Park. The Indians and Orioles are scheduled to begin play at 7:05pm ET. The latest
MLB Free Picks and Odds from BetOnline.ag have the Orioles listed as a -122 moneyline favorite ($122 wins $100). The Over/Under is set at nine runs (Over favored at -125 odds) and the Indians are getting +112 odds to win their 39
th game of the year.
The Orioles are still holding onto second place in the AL East standings, but their position is a tenuous one thanks to the sweep they just endured in Toronto. Baltimore, now 42-34, may not get much a reprieve with their return home to face Cleveland.
The Indians are coming off a 5-3 loss to the Twins, but they took their series with the Twins and they have won eight of their last 11 games to improve to 38-36 overall.
Today’s pitching matchup features highly touted southpaw Zach Britton for the Orioles and veteran right hander Ubaldo Jimenez for the Indians.
Britton is making his third start of the season and his second since returning from the disabled list. While his 5.56 ERA and 1.76 WHIP are not impressive, those numbers were mostly compiled in his first appearance of the season, a 2-6 loss in Seattle in which he allowed 10 hits and six earned runs over six innings.
Britton yielded just five hits and one run over 5.1 innings last Tuesday in Baltimore’s 5-2 win in Detroit.
Jimenez’ totals are not much better (4.66 ERA, 1.35 WHIP), but he has had more time to accumulate his lackluster numbers (14 starts). The 29 year old hurler has performed well in his last two outings, though, allowing just six hits and three earned runs over 10.2 innings in wins over Texas and Kansas City.
Notable Trends: The Indians are 0-6 in their last six games as a road dog with a total between 8.5 and 9 runs.
Cleveland Indians +1.5 (-180), Over 9 (-125), +112 (Moneyline)
Baltimore Orioles -1.5 (+160), Under 9 (+105), -122 (Moneyline)
