The South Carolina Gamecocks are hosting the No. 1 Clemson Tigers in college football action Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the college football betting odds for the game have Clemson listed as a big favorite, the Tigers will look to avoid a problem in this one.

Clemson still ranks tops in the country, they're going to be in the playoffs if they pick up a win here against South Carolina and take care of business in the ACC title game. South Carolina has been a mess this season, Steve Spurrier stepped down earlier and this will be the final game of their year.

The pinnacle of the abysmal season came last week for South Carolina as the Gamecocks lost at home to The Citadel. Tyler Renew busted off a 56-yard run in that one, scoring with just over six minutes left in the game. South Carolina is going to have a hard time getting back into the right mindset after that one, nothing has gone right for a team that began the season at 2-2 but has won just once in the last seven games.

Clemson will play North Carolina in the ACC Championship game next week, both teams are currently unbeaten in conference play. The Tigers have gotten great play from Deshaun Watson all season and Wayne Gallman has proven to be a very solid runner. Gallman has paced the Tiger run game with just over a 1,000 yards with nine touchdowns. Nobody on South Carolina can match up with Artavis Scott either, he's caught 74 passes but is the only Tiger receiver in their Top 6 not averaging double-digit yards per reception.

South Carolina could find a way to circle the wagons, rally the troops and pull off the stunner, but they really are considerably worse on all three phases of the game.
