Bowling Green was coming off two straight losing seasons heading into its 2012 campaign, creating some concern as to whether or not Head Coach Dave Clawson was the man for the job. Clawson and the Falcons calmed some of those fears last year with a solid 8-5 season. Bowling Green also finished second in the MAC East with a 6-2 conference record while also going 6-2 against the spread against league opposition. Those improvements have fans and pundits alike excited about this year's squad, which brings back 19 starters and 50 lettermen. The odds makers at 5Dimes are keen on the Falcons MAC chances as well with the team presently drawing +375 odds to win the conference and +150 odds to top the East Division. 2013 College Football Predictions at the offshore book also have Bowling Green favored to win Over 8.5 games at -150 odds ($150 wins $100).
Bowling Green's schedule is highly conducive to a division title as all of its most difficult conference opponents, with the exception of Buffalo, visit Perry Field. The Falcons host both Toledo and Ohio and their conference road outings, outside the aforementioned Bulls, include trips to Kent State, Miami, OH, and Eastern Michigan. Bowling Green will, in all probability, be favored in each of those games.
