Big Ten College Basketball Wisconsin Badgers at Nebraska Cornhuskers Start Time, Betting Odds

The Nebraska Cornhuskers welcome in the fifth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers in Big Ten College Basketball action tonight. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the Badgers favored on the road in this one.

Wisconsin has been the elite of the Big Ten this season and tonight they have a road battle at Nebraska. The Cornhuskers have been a major letdown to the conference this season, starting the year inside the Top 25 but stumbling to a 13-10 record so far this season. The biggest problem for Nebraska this season has been playing on the road — so far this year Nebraska is just 1-7 away from their own gym. The only road win of the year came at Florida State at the beginning of December, but they are at home tonight.

Nebraska doesn't score a lot of points, but they have two of the best scorers in the conference in Terran Petteway (18.7 ppg) and Shavon Shields (15.9 ppg). Both are going to have big games tonight if the Cornhuskers are going to compete with Wisconsin. Nebraska has been averaging 65 points per game during Big Ten play at home, winning five of their six games there coming by at least 11 points. It's going to take more than 65 points tonight in order to beat a Badgers team that scores 74 points per game on average. The Badgers have proven they can win big, posting 92 points against Indiana last Tuesday, or winning ugly as they beat Northwestern 65-50 on Saturday.

Frank Kaminsky is on track to win the player of the year in the conference, guiding the Badgers at 17.5 points per game and winning six straight. Wisconsin is a legitimate top-five team with only a loss to Duke at full strength. The other loss on the season came at Rutgers when Kaminsky didn't play, a game the Badgers almost won without him. Every game down the stretch is winnable for the Badgers and the road begins tonight against Nebraska.

Wisconsin picked up a 15-point win over Nebraska in the team's first meeting. The Badgers have been the only ranked team on Nebraska's schedule all season. Nebraska has also lost 10 of their last 11 games against top-five opponents. That's not good news.
