Arkansas suffered a big blow in the off-season when Bobby Petrino’s unsavory personal habits resulted in his dismissal as head coach. Fortunately for the Hogs, they should have enough talent to absorb the loss of Petrino and serve as Alabama and LSU’s biggest challenger to the SEC West crown. The latest Arkansas 2012 College Football Predictions are not forecasting a division crown or another 11 win season for the Razorbacks, though. The school is drawing +575 odds to win the West division and +140 odds to garner Over 9 wins. The Razorbacks are a +2800 moneyline play to win the national championship game according to the most recent 2013 BCS Odds.

Arkansas lost its two biggest receiving threats in the off-season in Jarius Wright and Joe Adams and it also saw three of its best defenders depart in Jerry Franklin, Tramain Thomas, and Jerico Nelson; however, it did retain its biggest playmaker in quarterback Tyler Wilson and its gets running back Knile Davis back from a broken ankle that sidelined him all of last season.

In addition to Wilson and Davis, the Razorbacks return 11 other starters and 47 lettermen from last season’s 11-2 team, which should give them and new head coach John L. Smith an opportunity to record several wins.

Still, Arkansas has a tough road to hoe with home games against Alabama and LSU and road meetings opposite Texas A&M, Auburn, and South Carolina.
