Andy Murray is looking to pick up another title in his homeland in 2016 Wimbledon Men’s Final on Sunday morning. The match, where Murray takes on Milos Raonic, is set for a 9:00 a.m. (EST) start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The betting odds for the match have Murray listed as a pretty strong favorite to win the match.
Andy Murray, the second-ranked player in the world, now goes for his second Wimbledon title in this matchup after picking up the title in 2013. Murray, the Englishman, is looking to get back to the top of the world here as he is a pretty solid favorite, drawing -300 or better almost everywhere.
Milos Raonic, the Canadian, is playing in his first Grand Slam final. Raonic made the semifinal earlier this season at the Australian Open, Murray knocked him out of that tournament.
Murray has played exceptional tennis this tournament, cruising to the quarterfinals before winning a five-set match of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and beating Tomas Berdych in straight sets in the semifinals the other day.
Raonic survived a five-set match with Roger Federer in the semifinals. He has the monster serve and looks to have improved his game enough to contend for the title here at Wimbledon against Murray.
Murray though, is the massive favorite here for a couple of reasons. First, he’s the first British-born tennis player since Virginia Wade in 1977 to win Wimbledon and the first men’s player since Fred Perry in 1936.
Raonic is a great story, he’s a great tennis player and will put up a strong fight in this one. But in the end, Murray will reign supreme once again at Wimbledon.
