The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs continue tonight when the Anaheim Ducks take on the Winnipeg Jets in an NHL Playoffs Game 4 matchup. The game is scheduled for an 9:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the USA Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Jets favored to get the win and hold off elimination for one more game.
Winnipeg has blown a couple of leads in this series, now they find themselves in a deep, dark hole. Sitting at their current position, the Jets would have to win the next four games overall in order to keep their season alive. In other words, it's not happening. But they can salvage some pride by picking up a win in this one tonight.
Anaheim won 18 games during the regular season when trailing at any point in the third period. They've upped that even more by tailing in the third period in each of the opening three games of this series, but now own a 3-0 lead. Anaheim has out-scored Winnipeg 7-0 in the third period and overtime sessions so far this post season and if they are able to play well in either of the opening two periods tonight, it's all over for Winnipeg.
This was the first post season for the Jets and the city of Winnipeg since 1996 and now it's on the verge of ending quickly. Tonight they find a way to win in front of their home crowd, which will be a nervous rowdy, as they hold off elimination.
