2014 Kentucky Derby Longshots — Uncle Sigh

Kentucky Derby Odds 2014: Updated Lines and Favorites After Post Positions Draw

Uncle Sigh is being tabbed as one of the potential longshots in the 2014 Kentucky Derby. The current odds for Uncle Sigh make the horse one of the 2014 Kentucky Derby Longshots on this day before the race. The Kentucky Derby will begin at 6:24pm EST Saturday from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

Uncle Sigh will begin the Kentucky Derby from the third post position. In all five of his starts, Uncle Sigh has gotten Beyer Speed Figures in the 90s, making this horse a quick one. The Gary Contessa-trained horse hails from former Santa Anita Derby winner Indian Charlie, who finished third in the 1998 Kentucky Derby.

This horse has never been worse than 5/1 in any of his races, but is coming in at 30/1 odds for this race. That alone means there can be some nice value on this longshot, which will be run by Irad Ortiz Jr.

Uncle Sigh finished second at the Gotham and Withers, both of which are 1 1/16 mile tracks. The 1 1/4 mile Churchill Downs is going to push most horses in this race.

Current Odds: 30/1
