2014 Kentucky Derby Contenders — Ride On Curlin

Ride On Curlin is one of the middle of the pack horses in the 2014 Kentucky Derby. The current odds for Ride On Curlin make the horse just on the outside of the major 2014 Kentucky Derby Contenders on this day before the race. The Kentucky Derby will begin at 6:24pm EST Saturday from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ride On Curlin is trained by William Gowan, known to the horse racing world as "Bronco." Ride On Curlin, runner of nine races to date, has picked up a couple of victories, second place finishes and taken third several times. Ride On Curlin is the model of consistency and has cashed for horse bettors in all five of his graded stakes races.

The horse finished second in the Arkansas Derby and is being ridden by Calvin Borel Saturday at the Kentucky Derby. Borel rode Ride On Curlin to both of its victories. Borel has three Kentucky Derby's to his name.

Ride On Curlin has raced three times at Churchill Downs and this time will look to get the biggest victory in the sports. Yet, the horse doesn't have a victory to his name of anything longer than six furlongs. Ride On Curlin is a very experienced horse and having Borel as the jockey only makes this a very solid bet.

Current Odds: 15/1

Winning Trainer: Ben A Jones worked together with jockey Eddie Arcaro spanning from 1938 to 1952 and collected a total of six wins at the Kentucky Derby.

Winning Owner: Over a course of 27 years, Calumet Farm had a total of eight Derby wins (1941, 1944, 1948, 1949, 1952, 1957, 1958).
