The 2014 Belmont Stakes will be held on Saturday as California Chrome looks to run for the Triple Crown. The field appears to have a pretty solid group of horses as the 2014 Belmont Stakes Contenders are ready to go as we look for horse racing history.
And although California Chrome is going to be drawing the most attention in this race because of the Triple Crown possibility, don't overlook the rest of the field. Both Commanding Curve, which finished second in the Kentucky Derby and Ride On Curlin, which finished second in the Preakness, are being projected to run in this field on Saturday.
In fact, the Top Five finishers at this year's Kentucky Derby will be running in the Belmont as Medal Count, Wicked Strong and Samraat (third through fifth, respectively) will be giving it a shot. General A Rod, who finished 11th in the Derby, will also race.
Social Inclusion finished third in the Preakness and is expected to race. Kid Cruz finished eighth in the Preakness and is looking like it will join the field at Belmont on Saturday as well. The field should be pretty solid and we are anticipating a very solid race.
