College football is nearly here and one team that is expected to have a great season is the Oregon Ducks. They'll have to replace former head coach Chip Kelly, who bolted for the NFL and the Philadelphia Eagles. Yet, the Oregon Ducks 2014 BCS Title Odds opened at second best in the country, but quickly shot down after Kelly left.
Oregon's 40/1 BCS Title Odds are tied for ninth best in the country. The Alabama Crimson Tide open the season leading the country at 3/1, according to oddsmakers. Oregon is also projected to have a season win total of 10.5 according to the oddsmakers, with the over heavily juiced at a -190 (Risk $190 to profit back $100). The schedule certainly will help them. They're probably the best overall team in the Pac-12 Conference this season with quarterback Marcus Mariota returning for his sophomore season at the helm of the Ducks. Oregon opened at 8/1 odds to win the BCS Title game and quickly plummeted after Kelly left. That's how much of an impact he had on Oregon's offense, according to the oddsmakers.
The ducks are one of five teams in the country that are favored in every single game this season. The Ducks join Alabama, Louisvile, George and Ohio State as the only teams in the country picked to win all their games by the oddsmakers.
Both Mariota and De'Anthony Thomas have pretty decent odds to win the Heisman Trophy as well. Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel is the favorite to win the coveted award yet again, with 5/1 odds. Currently Thomas is drawing 14/1 odds while Mariota is sitting at 25/1 odds to win. If either are still there at the end of the season, they'll certinly be playing well in the Pac-12. They are even money to win the North Division this season and are 1.5/1 (Risk $100 to profit back $150) odds to win the conference outright.
