The NHL is back and fans and players alike are looking forward to the regular season. It's not going to be a full season, but at least hockey is back and in the mainstream yet again. The 2013 New York Rangers Stanley Cup Odds currently sit at 8/1. Those odds are equal to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

According to sportsbook.ag, the Penguins and Rangers are atop the league with 8/1 odds to hoist the Stanley Cup. The Rangers haven't won a Stanley Cup Finals since the 1993-94 season and prior to that, they hadn't won since the 1939-40 season. So fans have a reason to be excited about this year's team, which is being highly considered as one of the best teams in hockey.

The addition of Rick Nash from Columbus is absolutely huge for this team. He's one of the best left wingers in hockey and he joins an already money-loaded roster of key players. Goal tender Henrik Lundqvist won the Vezina Trophy last year for being the best goalie in hockey and he'll be pressured to keep the wins coming for New York.

When we talk about a team with a lot of potential, the New York Rangers certainly fill that bill. They signed Brad Richards two summers ago. Marian Gaborik is coming off some shoulder issues but scored 41 goals last year and youngster Ryan Callahan is the captain, who scored 29 goals a season ago. And we haven't even mentioned defenseman Marc Staal yet.

This team is loaded and if they can stick together in a short season, they're going to be dangerous. We think they win the Cup this season, but right now the oddsmakers have them tied with the Penguins for the top spot in Stanley Cup Odds.
