The Grizzlies and Thunder hit the court tonight for Game 2 of their best of seven 2nd Round series. This evening’s showdown between Memphis and Oklahoma City is scheduled to get underway at 9:30pm ET at the Chesapeake Energy Arena; the game will be broadcast live on TNT. 2013 NBA Playoffs Grizzlies vs ThunderOdds have Oklahoma City listed as a -2.5 against the spread favorite and the Over/Under set at 186 points. Memphis is drawing +120 moneyline odds to even the series at a game apiece.
Oklahoma City looked a bit lost following the season ending injury to Russell Westbrook. With a 3-0 lead over the Rockets, the Thunder dropped back to back game against Houston, raising concerns that they maybe had not cleared the mental hurdle posed by Westbrook’s absence.
The Thunder were able to regroup in Game 6, though, and finished off the Rockets in Houston with a 103-94 victory. Nonetheless, OKC had no time to rest on its laurels with a surging Memphis team arriving in the Sooner State two days later.
The Grizzlies looked well on their way to a Game 1 upset as they carried a 73-64 lead into the final frame on Sunday. Memphis had no fourth quarter answer for
Kevin Durant, though, who took five of the Thunder’s last six shots, including the game winner with 11.1 seconds left.
Durant finished the game with 35 points (13-of-26), 15 rebounds, and six assists, helping Oklahoma City overcome a 41.3 shooting percentage. Memphis also shot poorly from the field, connecting on 35 of its 82 shot attempts and it was a horrific 14-of-24 from the charity stripe.
Despite Sunday’s loss, the Grizzlies have experienced an unusual amount of success at the Chesapeake Energy Arena of late. Memphis, which is 3-2 in its last five meetings with OKC, is 2-2 in its last four games at the venue.
Notable Trends: The Grizzlies are 1-4 both straight up and against the spread over the last five years playing as Pick to +3 road dog coming off one day of rest and a road loss.
