The 2013 Australian Open is the first Major tennis tournament of the year and is played at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia. The 2013 Australian Open Women's Draw is listed below for the opening round. It is also broken up into pairs of eight players. The players that are seeded in the tournament have a number after their names and before the country they are representing. All wildcards are listed with a (W) in front of their names.

Serena Williams is the overwhelming favorite to win the tournament. It should come as no surprise as she has won 36 of her last 37 matches overall. She could meet up with No. 1 Victoria Azarenka in the in the semifinals. Yet, Williams is 11-1 against Azarenka in her career, and has won the last eight matchups between the two.

The Australian Open begins on Monday, Jan. 14 in Melbourne, which is Sunday night in EST. First round coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. Sunday night on ESPN2.
