2012 British Open Tiger Woods Second Round Tee Time

The second round of the 2012 British Open gets underway on Friday morning from the Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Course in St. Annes, England. Adam Scott made history on Thursday by leading after any round of a major for the first time in his career. He shot an impressive 6-under par round of 64. The 2012 British Open Second Round Tee Time for Tiger Woods is set at 2:43 p.m. local time in England, or 9:43 a.m. EST here in the United States. He is paired with Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose once again.

Woods had an up and down day overall on Thursday, but had a solid round anyway. He is currently in an 8-way tie for sixth place after the opening round of the 2012 British Open with his score of 3-under par, which was good for a 67 on the score card. Tied with Woods in that spot are Graeme McDowell, Bubba Watson, the Big Easy Ernie Els, Peter Hanson, fellow American Steve Stricker, Rory McIlroy and Japan's Toshinori Muto.

Woods made the course look relatively easy at times, but was happy overall with a 67 in his first round. He shot 30 on the front nine. There are a total of 36 players overall who finished the first round under par on the day, which was a big surprise to many around the game of golf. However, the conditions proved to be not as terrible as most thought. Typically, British Opens are marred by wind, rain and the inevitable high scores. "It was kind of weird standing out there on about the ninth tee box looking around in shirtsleeves at guys being 4, 5 and 6 under par," McDowell said after his round. "It was a pretty benign start to the week." McDowell played well at times as well.

Tiger is looking for his first Major win since 2008 and is currently in the hunt, just three shots off the lead. Conventional wisdom tells us that he's going to stick around for the remaining three days of the tournament and could possibly win the whole thing. He is, in fact, still the odds-on leader to take home his fifth Claret Jug overall. Time will tell.

Having not-so-great days were the likes of Phil Mickelson and even Lee Westwood. Both were and are considered to still be around for the weekend, if not contend, but both struggled bigtime on Thursday. Lefty carded a poor 3-over par 73 while Westwood, ranked as the third best player in the world, also shot 73. Yikes. Each both have massive odds to win the tournament, with Westwood sitting at 60/1 while the People's Champion Mickelson is a ragged 80/1.
