Now that the bird has been carved and devoured our thoughts turn to the final week of the regular College Football season and an NFL surge that finds teams positioning themselves for playoff openings.

Here's our take on some of the big games on this weekend's College and NFL cards.  Remember, Series History reflects results in head-to-head battles between the two teams.  All results are ATS (Against The Spread) unless noted otherwise.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Oregon at Oregon State

Series History: The Beavers have beat the Ducks the last two years.  The home team is 4-2 ATS the last six games in this series.

Oregon Key Stat: The Ducks are 6-1 ATS with rest under head coach Mike Bellotti.

Oregon State Key Stat: The Beavers are 1-19 ATS as a favorite in games in which they allow 24 or more points.

You Need To Know: Oregon has averaged scoring more than 30 PPG in Mike Bellotti's 57 career road games.

 

Oklahoma at Oklahoma State

Series History: The Sooners are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS the last five games in this series but only 1-4 ATS the last five visits to Stillwater.

Oklahoma Key Stat: The Sooners are 2-6 ATS on the conference road against .750 or greater opponents.

Oklahoma State Key Stat:  The Cowboys are 11-4-1 ATS in their last sixteen games when playing with rest.

You Need To Know: College football conference home dogs playing with rest and revenge off a win in their Last Home Game of the season are 25-8 ATS since 1980.

 

NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE

New York Giants at Washington

Series History: The Giants beat the Redskins, 16-7, in their season opener in New York this year.  The ATS loser of the first game is 7-1 ATS in the second game the last 8 years.

New York Key Stat:  Tom Coughlin is 3-9 in his NFL head coaching career as a division favorite off back-to-back SU and ATS wins.

Washington Key Stat: The Redskins are 7-2 off a SU 3-point non-division victory.

You Need To Know: Under Jim Zorn Washington is 3-2 SU and 1-3-1 ATS against losing teams.  Against .500 or greater teams they are 4-2 SU and ATS.

 

Pittsburgh at New England

Series History:  The Patriots are 6-2 SU and 7-1 ATS the last eight games in this series.

Pittsburgh Key Stat: Mike Tomlin is 0-5 on the road off a double-digit victory.

New England Key Stat: The Patriots are 1-8 as favorites off a division game when facing an opponent with revenge.

You Need To Know: The Steelers are 6-1 with revenge off a SU underdog win.

 

Chicago at Minnesota

Series History: The Bears beat the Vikings, 48-41, earlier this season.  Chicago is 7-3 the last ten games in this series. 

Chicago Key Stat: 4 of Chicago's 6 wins this season have been against teams with a win percentage of .200 or less.

Minnesota Key Stat: The Vikings are 11-2 SU and 10-3 ATS with division revenge when playing off a SU underdog win.

You Need To Know: NFL team playing that are playing their 3rd consecutive road game are 18-42 SU and 19-40-1 ATS during the regular season since 1980.

 

Other Top Trends for this weekend: UTEP is 11-0 as a road dog with revenge; Wake Forest is 1-10 as a non-division favorite of more than 3 points; Virginia is 11-1 with revenge off a loss versus an opponent off a win; New Orleans is 13-3 as a division road dog of 3 or more points; Oakland is 2-15 as a division home favorite.
