SIXERS: Philadelphia had to gain confidence from their Game 1 efforts, as they had a legitimate chance of stealing the road opener. The Sixers take the mindset of their head coach every time they take the court. Coach Collins has made this Philadelphia team scrappy and full of confidence, regardless of the venue and stature of the contest. Philadelphia is 26-18 ATS as the listed underdog this season, including 4-1 ATS as a road underdog between 9.5 and 12 points. The Sixers are 2-2 ATS against the Heat this season, with their 2 losses coming by a total of 6 points. F Thadddeus Young scored a Sixers high 20 points in Game 1, but he also took 20 attempts. HEAT: (-9.5, O/U 190) Miami got their first taste of playoff basketball since the Big Three came to town. The Heat were given quite the scare from the Sixers, as they had to play all 48 minutes to earn the win to go up 1-0 in their opening round series. While going 4-0 SU this season against Philadelphia, they are just 2-2 ATS. Miami is 31-11 SU and 15-26 ATS in home games this year. For the season, the Heat are 4-6 ATS as a home favorite between 9.5 and 12 points. F Chris Bosh was amazing in Game 1, as he had a team high 25 points, as well as 12 rebounds. F Lebron James had 21 points and a team high 14 rebounds against the Sixers. G Dwyane Wade only scored 17 points during Game 1, partly due to him battling a migraine headache that leaves his status for Game 2 in doubt. The Heat are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Monday games. Miami is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against the Atlantic Division. The Heat are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest. Miami is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU win. PACERS: Indiana nearly pulled off the shocker of all Game 1's, as they had Chicago on the ropes as an 11.5 underdog. Clearly the Pacers aren't intimadated by the Bulls, a fact Chicago realized during the series opener. Indiana has a roster full of high character players, with F Tyler Hansbrough a perfect example. Hansbrough has come on strong this season, and he had 22 points in Game 1. PG Darren Collison had 17 points and a team high 9 assists against the Bulls, with just 1 turnover. Collison has his hands full while opposite Derrick Rose, and he more than held his own. F Danny Granger had a team high 24 points for the Pacers in Game 1, including 4 made three pointers. BULLS: (-12, O/U 191.5) Chicago certainly won't be looking past Indiana in Game 2. The Bulls were given quite the shock in Game 1, as they had to play from behind for the entire game. It took a huge 4th quarter comeback for the Bulls to ultimately win the game and take a 1-0 lead in their best of 7 First Round series. PG Derrick Rose showed why he's all but locked up the MVP trophy, as he scored a game high 39 points. Chicago needed every single one of his 39 points, including 19 made free throws. Both F Luol Deng and C Joakim Noah had double doubles for Chicago. Deng had 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Noah had 10 points and a team high 11 rebounds for the Bulls. Chicago allowed the Pacers to score 99 points, which is nearly 8 points more than they allowed per game during the regular season. All quotes out of Chicago state that Game 2 will be played with their customary fierce defense. The Bulls are dominant at home this season, as they are 37-5 SU and 24-17 ATS. Chicago is 5-5 ATS this year as a home favorite between 9.5 and 12 points. The Bulls are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 Monday games. Chicago is 25-9 ATS in their last 34 games following a ATS loss. Under is 25-10 last 35 games playing on 1 days rest.
I am a huge fight fan and have a great sense and feel for it. If I had to choose one sport over the other, I would say that I am a bigger boxing fan than MMA fan as I have been watching boxing far longer...
