WNBA - 603 Atlanta Dream @ 604 Indiana Fever
The Fever
are now in a roll with 7 consecutive wins and facing today the "soft"
Atlanta Dream team they should get another easy win. However we are
dealing with a big line for this game and I rather prefer to focus on
the totals line. What we've got is 148.5 points and in my opinion this
is low key number and we have enough room to work with the over.
During the 7-game winning streak the Fever's games ended with 139,
134, 120, 152, 163 (OT game), 117 and 120 points for an average of just
135 points per game. However we must not forget to look for the
opponents defenses' during the process. In fact, the Fever (second best
defensive team of the league) faced the best defensive team of the
league: Connecticut; the 3rd best LA; the 4th best defense NY twice,
the 5th best defense Seattle and the 7th best defense Detroit twice -
all those teams are in the top defensive stats! What about Atlanta?
Well, they are the second worst defensive team of the league allowing
82.1 points per game. This fact forced the oddmakers to adjust their
lines according the recents outcomes of the Fever' games.
Atlanta is a terrible perimeter defensive team allowing a league
high 40.88 % behind the arc and Indiana is shooting lights out downtown
lately by connecting 9 treys in 4 of their last 6 games so this
combination is worth of some treys points. Atlanta is coming from a
nice win where they allowed only 65 points, however asking them to be
perform well defensively in back to back games is too much, remember
that they are 12-4 Over after 1 or more consecutive unders! Meanwhile
the Fever is in a huge roll and they don't need to bring their best
defensive effort to the court to beat an erratic Atlanta team. Indiana
is 13-3 Over off a home win by 10 points or more over the last 3
seasons and I expect them to put at least 80' points in the scoreboard
in a fast paced game. My real line for this game is 152/154 points and
that's why I'm taking the Over in here.
