Penultimate game here is England v Croatia.
Too many meetings to go too in depth here, but my quick thoughts...
England is playing with a swagger we haven’t seen. As long as they don’t pull a Colombia game, they should win comfortably. What I mean by that is England wins in a press situation. When they tried to sit back, they were a mess and looked super nervous. Pickford has been playing well but remember that a short time ago, he wasn’t a shoe in. For me, you have to sit Sterling. Don’t really care what he’s done in the past because mentally he is a midget in front of net. Against Croatia, you need to take your chances like denmark and Russia did to have a chance. England’s decent enough in the middle of Stones doesn’t trip over his boots so it’ll be hard for Mandy and Luka to break through that way. England has the advantage in set pieces too.
I do think because of the above, we once again give the over a go. It’s only 2 and it’s not the worst price in the world. England should be pressing early before Croatia has a chance to adjust to whatever Southgate throws at them. 2-0 to the Lions, but don’t be surprised if they fall into a 3rd or a Croatia counter beats them off a set piece.
