Fellas, and ladies of course..the reason I label "Prime-Time" games, which obviously mean the Weekday & SNF stand-alones which are televised match-ups, and which the sportsbooks take "bigger" limits are many..
#1..they are a different animal than the regular match-ups on a big Sat or Sun CFB/NFL board due to the fact bet volume from recreational bettors is much greater in comparison..We know money can move lines, even when not sharp and therefore these tend to get knocked out of whack. Plus there's usually so much pending parlays/teasers that many books will adjust to try and limit liability. And of course being able to bet more into what ultimately can mean softer lines is a major advantage.
#2..some of my biggest bets personally for many years have come on these games because I believe the value is greater and my bet size is determined by that alone.
#3..those who have been with me for years know I've done extremely well on prime-time games just like I've done in post-seasons, which is why I increase bet size..So they need to be separated like any sport, reg & post-seasons, etc..
Bottom line, I'm sure most will argue it's a marketing ploy and I'm not going to act all innocent and say that NO WAY is that the case..but the reason I'm able to market them is because I've kicked ass on those bets. Forgive me, I don't mean to come off cocky but you can't argue with the results..I've cashed 8 of L/9 MNF 3*s and almost 70% on my L/30..and well over 65% for the entire CFB & NFL Seasons on TNF, SNF, MNF, and the rare weekday (Tues/Wed/Fri) CFB prime-time games..
And I'm very selective because I do bet those big..Perfect example, I PASSED on SNF last night and I'm PASSING on MNF tonight, even with a very "marketable" record which would ensure I sell a ton of picks..
Finally, I know some ask about the labeling and such..but it really is as simple as it gets..
I've learned from working with a number of betting syndicates and wiseguys over the years that Bet Sizing is so important to beating the books..So what I've done is try to replicate the way I bet for my subscribers..
The way I do that is this..
2* = Regular Premium Play that I'm betting and am confident enough to pass along to subscribers.
3* = My Best Bet for the Day..many times the ONLY bet for the day.
Then to reflect when I'm Increasing Bet Size on 3*s (since that's the highest rating in Pregame system)..I add a label in this order of strength : GOW, GOM, & MAX..and GOY if it's warranted but many sports seasons I don't even have one of those.
That's it..2*, 3*, or 3* with a label to reflect I'm making a bigger bet. I don't know how to make it any simpler..
And then I let subscribers know whether it's "true steam" so they bet it immediates, a "set-up" so they wait for line to get to a certain price, or "late steam" to inform them a buy-order is coming. Because almost every bet we make was, is, or will be a steam play since I work with different movers, wiseguys, and bookmakers each day who help me confirm my leans or allow me to piggy back +EV bets.
Finally, I can't decide when someone starts to follow me or how long they do so..and I can't manage their bankrolls for them. I also know that with each passing day and bet, we're all learning to be more efficient bettors and get more sources of info, to improve our results. With that said, you can take any sample size from any winning sports bettor and find losing stretches, just like you can take one from a losing bettor that has winning streaks..but what you can't do is offer value if your knowledge, experience, information, etc don't. And personally, I know that I offer VALUE to every one of my subscribers and with every pick I release..and that long-term, I offer them the best chance to beat the books.
Like I said, someone can argue I have lost over a certain period of time, and I can argue that I had one of the most amazing years at The Sports Monitor in 2010 that's ever been documented. Neither will do anyone any good who joins me tomorrow..so instead what I offer is the opportunity to get all of my knowledge, experience, sources of information, picks, etc to use along with your own to put you in the best position to uncover value and do damage. That much I can promise you..and for that I'm confident and proud because that's all I've ever wanted to do here at Pregame, offer other bettors value.
Thanks for your time, and whether your a VR supporter, detractor, or are neutral..I truly am grateful to all of you for affording me the opportunity to share all that I've learned by surrounding myself with some of the sharpest and smartest bettors, cappers, bookmakers, movers, of all time. Best of luck ahead...as if luck has anything to do with any of this..lol, VR
